I have an empty display to fill. Is it time to give Hot Wheels its due?

A few weeks ago I asked for your help on filling the last few slots of one of my Carney display cases. I got a lot of good suggestions, and used many as I started filling it up.

But then something happened.  The Matchbox case my friend Jason helped me acquire made its way to Las Vegas, where I was able to grab it and haul it home.

That means 80 Matchbox from the Carney Displays move to the Matchbox Display, and this will serve as the new YouTube backdrop:

And with this shift, that means I have an empty wall display to fill.

I have had the three Carney Displays for awhile now, and the contents have changed quite a bit.  I have my eye on a couple more, because other brands need their due.  Until the Matchbox Case arrived, one of the Carney cases was dedicated to TLV, while the other two almost all Matchbox with a sliver of Hot Wheels.  When I finally get the next two cases, brands like Kyosho, Auto World, M2, and Majorette will definitely get some space.

For now, I think my old friend Hot Wheels needs the empty case.

So I need your ideas.  You had given me some ideas for the few spaces I had before, but with a whole case to dedicate to blue, should I go with a theme?  All Real Riders?  My favorites?  Organize by carmaker?  Give me some ideas, and let me know of some specific models too.

My guess is I will go random favorites, but I can be swayed.  Ultimately I want it to look good, and undoubtedly it will…

  1. At least one model to be displayed has to be a Blown Delivery variant, and at least two Ferraris should be present. Otherwise, it's your choice.

(Ideally, you need a plinth to display a BD, but that's too expensive, I think.)

  2. Fill it with as many pieces that highlight why DLM is the best route with some cars people are afraid to open. Watching you crack those high end cars has inspired me to do the same and fill my smaller case with those models that look truly stunning out of their plastic prisons!
