No Super TH Experiment like 2014, but I thought I would give you a tally of what 2015 was like for me on the Super Treasure Hunt front.
If you remember the Super TH Experiment from 2014, it was my attempt to find all the Supers in store on regular daytime visits. No doorwarming, no overnight pallet raiding, just a check of the pegs when in a store during the day. I did pretty well. I didn’t find all the Supers, but I did manage to get the majority.
It seems I wasn’t in stores as much this year. Keeping the “One-and-Done” mantra with most models meant a return visit to store seemed a little fruitless. But in the visits I did make, I think I did ok. Last week I was shocked to come across the Toyota Off-Road Super at a Target at about 2 in the afternoon. That is the last Super of the year, so it seems a good time to show you where I am at:
I found a total of 13 Supers. 14 if you count the Kombi I opened. Of the 15 Supers released, I found 9. Not bad for mid-day finds. Of course I could get lucky on more 2015 Supers moving into the holidays, and I hope I do, but the photo above is what I found during the 2015 Hot Wheels year.
Most Supers are not models I collect, so to me the fun in then is finding them. How, when, and especially where. I have mentioned that in my job I travel, mostly by car, and that affords me to check smaller stores in smaller towns. Those finds are especially my favorite.
The details on these finds:
Kool Kombi – Both were found in fresh bins at Walmart on successive days in the middle of the morning. I happened on both bins with another collector in both cases and we each found one.
Rrrroadster – Found at two different Walmarts on the same day in two different towns, mid-morning.
Toyota AE-86 Corolla – Found one at Walgreens on an endcap early afternoon. Found the other on an endcap at Smith’s Marketplace (a Kroger store) mid-morning.
’69 Mustang Boss – Found on a fresh Walmart endcap mid-morning. This was my freshest find, meaning it the was the first I had seen of that batch. That does not happen to me very often.
Custom ’77 Dodge Van – My favorite find. Found with Ethan’s dad at a Dollar General in a small town, late morning. This was right during the time Ethan was sick, and I spend the day with his dad working. We stopped by this Dollar General and were shocked to find the Super.
Mastretta MXR – Found on successive days on the pegs at Walmart. Both late morning finds.
8 Crate – Found a few weeks ago on an endcap at Family Dollar right after lunch.
Pass’n Gasser – Found at different Walmarts about two weeks apart. One on Saturday morning, the other early afternoon.
Toyota Off-Road – Last week at Target.
So almost all were found at Walmart, one at Target, another at Smith’s. It is those at the smaller stores that I like the best. Let’s see if I can improve on this total over the next couple of months…

im from indonesia,finding supers in peg is almost impossible.
Just find the exotics or jdm here is kinda lucky
My luck this year was pretty damn good compared to the past years, in the past it was always either 1 or none. but this year I found 9. Starting in Feb when me and another random collector who was at the store pulled 5 super Ferraris out of a dump bin, I took 2. Then in march I found a 2014 super 07 Mustang in a shipper at a craft store of all places, then a couple weeks 2 super 65 Impalas from a couple shippers at Kroger. Fast forward to late June at that same Kroger I went through 4 shippers and found another Ferrari. Then in august I got a 65 Mustang from walgreens. And finally 2 super superbirds from Kday. And that's been it so far.
One Mustang, and thats the only one EVER i have found…………
I have had no luck with supers in all the years I collect. I can't believe that the collectors manage to beat me every time at every store in the bay area. I can't afford th eBay prices and sucks that I can't find them wild
I found 2 mastrettas in a fresh shipper at Kroger late in the afternoon and a Deloren on some picked through pegs at target!

ebay prices are crazy and it takes some of the fun away i have only found 2 so i know how you feel

This year I found 5, more than ever!
First was a '65 Impala at a Dollarama. I had searched that store a couple times and missed it both times. It was in the bottom of a bin full of bouncy balls!
Found another Impala on the pegs at Walmart, around 10 AM.
Third was the 510, found at another Dollarama in March. That was a sweet find!
Fourth was a '69 Vette, another random Dollarama find.
Last but not least, I went through a fresh dump bin to find a Toyota Tundra super.
All in all, it's been a pretty good year! Still not over, too.
Found 2: A Datsun Wagon $uper at Target & a Charger Daytona $uper when I opened my case at K-Days.
Found a Mustang Super TH at Aeromart Supermarket here in Trinidad. It was hidden down to the back of one of the compartments on the Hot Wheels display case. The card looked like someone bit off the corner, perhaps and attempt to dissuade other from buying it. But I found it and bought it instantly!

8 Crate X 2 – Publix (first one on the actual pegs) and Kmart
Mastretta X 2 – both in a fresh dump bin at Walmart. A friend collector showed up 5 minutes later – great timing!
Toyota pickup – Publix end aisle, first time ever in that Publix
Toyota Supra – Same as above, a week later, second time ever in that Publix!
Not bad for less than a year as a collector
3 Greenwood Vette (single trip, Walgreens, Brooklyn)
2 Mastretta (2 Walgreens, Brooklyn, single afternoon)
3 Delorean (3 trips to same Toys R Us, Brooklyn)
2 8-Crate (Target in Hawaii, Kmart in Poughkeepsie)

Custom '77th Dodge Van x3 – All 3 found at the same HEB (kind of like a grocery store only found in Texas) at two different times. One on the actual pegs, and two in a shipper.
Mastretta MXR – Found in a small dump bin at Kroger close to 1 A.M.
Mitsubishi EVO – Found in a fresh shipper at Kroger.
I only found one Super Treasure Hunt this year, and that is the Mastretta MXR. I found it at a Target store. It looked like a regular issue, but when I found an actual basic Mastretta MXR, I was confused, not long before I realized that I found a Super Treasure Hunt.

Only one for me, and it wasn't so much a true “find”. Pulled the Superbird $TH from my case to open at the last K-days.
I've only “found” 3 $THs in the “wild,” all were at K-days (2010 '69 Torino in the leftovers, then the '64 Riviera in 2013 and the Superbird back in September)

I've found one, the AE-86. It was at TRU, on an end cap. It was from a batch that, according to the employee, hadn't been restocked in 1 week.

I've found 3 this year:
Toyota Supra on an end cap at a Harmon's Grocery store. About 12:30pm.
2 Mastrettas in the same trip in a fresh dump bin at a Smith's grocery store. About 10pm.

Found two. The corolla and the Mustang
In late September at one of the local Wal Marts in Fredericton,New Brunswick,Canada I purchased a silver Bi Focal II,BMW motorbike etc and today at another local Wal Mart I purchased this Hot Wheels brand Fire Patrol Rig that included a Fire Patrol plane but however it was manufactured in or for 2013 according to what I read on the package.
Zero (in the past five years) – it's nearly impossible to find short carded $upers in Germany 🙁
Found my very first Super back in April in a bin at a Walmart (Nova wagon) and just found a Delorean on the pegs earlier this month in a Target.
I did purchase a loose '69 Boss Mustang off of Ebay back in Feb., but… I also found a red AE-86 with MC5 wheels (happy error) in a Walgreens and sold it on Ebay!
Must admit… stopped at a Kmart Hot Wheels event a couple years ago and was late. Took my eight year old at the time to checkout leftovers and he walked right up to a spin rack and pulled a Super Chevelle Fire wagon… He found a Super before I ever did. Lucky dog!
Just like last year, nothing. But it seems to be picking up in the Netherlands, friends did find supers.

Have also found around 12 Green Machines, 7 Ultra Reds, and 15-20 M2 Chases. All of that is about triple what I found last year which was my previous best year, and I cut down how much I hunted by at least half, go figure.
As many of you know, the UK is crap for getting HotWheels at the same time as the USA. also I have school and my town is bad for finding HW anyway. However I have found 2 RRRoadsters and an 8 Crate so far for the 2015 line. Some places here are at q case but some are on h case so who know whether I will find more or not. Only time will tell

Being Malaysian, none.
Just started collecting in July 2015 and found 1 Evo, 3 Mustang Fastbacks, 2 DMCs, 4 Supras, and 1 Toyota off-road. Our Targets completely skipped over the P case so I didn't get much of a chance to find the Superbird, but seeing as that's one of my least favorites I didn't mind. Just found the 2016 Tesla super this morning!
Never found one, as i live in the UK.
I found 2 black 599XX Ferraris in the same Ralphs (Kroger) display at 3 pm on a Friday as they had just restocked it, my first Supers ever. Also found the Fastback 2+2 Mustang at 5 pm at a Target. Most Walmarts around here get poached as soon as the bins hit the floor so I usually don't have luck there…
As is the tradition, my 9 year dry spell continues. Someone in my area guaranteed has backroom deals on the go.
I found my first Super Treasure Hunt in over a year at the Dollarama store in Ottawa's St. Laurent Centre last week. It was the '64 Chevy Nova Station Wagon… a 2014 Super Treasure Hunt, which is incidentally only the second 2014 Super TH I've found in the wild, the first being the Chevy Silverado which I found at some point in the summer of 2014.
Sadly, I still haven't found any 2015 Super Treasure Hunts, although I can't say that there were any this year that I'd pay more than a couple of dollars for on the secondary market. I refuse to pay much more than retail for any Super TH with a plastic chassis.
Only two stores in my area but i found 3 Rrroadsters, 4 Ferraris, 2 Pass n Gasser and 1 Mustang Fastback (the Mustang was almost out of the package, alone on a table in another department, that was weird) i traded some of them for the ones that i like the most, i´m gonna keep only 5 for myself: Ferrari, Mustang Boss, Mastretta, Lancer and Mustang Fastback

That Walmart stopped having dumpbins in n case early august, and had too much in the bin for the shelves that the Walmart hasn't restocked.my second was the 2013 72 ford ranchero at a sears that carries 1 hot wheels at a time with a full stock. That one was a super! Nothing for the next 3 years until… 2015!!! I found a super a 5 below a month ago. A Ferrari 599 xx 😊 then, amasingly, in a Fred's shipper, a mooneyes dodge van last week!!!😁😀😊😊😊

You're so lucky man! Nice Finds! The Toyota Off Road Truck is a great $TH casting ever I seen! I'm not hoping too much, just hope I can found the $TH Toyota Off Road Truck which it is 2017 Model that came out in 2017 D Case! 😉
