With this Matchbox Police Car kick I am on, I was trying to figure out the best way to show all of the models I have.
Showing the black & white models was suggested to me, and I love the idea.
Here in the US, the white-on-black cop car is iconic. Close your eyes and think of a cop car, and there is a very good chance you will think of a black sedan with white doors. The origins of that design are unknown to me (maybe one of our police friends can let us know), but the most well-known force with that design has to be the California Highway Patrol.
So let’s start there.
Matchbox has done several unlicensed liveries that look like the CHP livery, but the true CHP is one white door and black everywhere else. And while I don’t have all, I have all that have been done in the last few years:
I love seeing all these together. Such a nice mix of models, and hopefully we see more. The new Dodge Charger, upcoming Corvette and Ram, Ford Interceptor, and even the BMW M5 all seem like great candidates. Let’s keep this fleet growing.

No one dose the police crusier better than MB nobody! With so many departments using the Chevy Tahoe I can not believe MB has still not done it! Black and whites are most recognized but many municipalities are now going completey white and then using decals. I have a few friends that are heros. They have told me Philadelphia has done it when they did because it was more cost effective to buy white than to buy colored cars. Weather this is why it has been done who knows. I love the crusier, since I was a little kid them and fire trucks. I lived next to a rec center growing up and they would pull in to watch pee-wee football they would run the lights and sound. Guessing that is where the fascination manifested in me same with fire trucks. We had a pretty big fire in a busy shopping district and just to see all the trucks. Not to mention this was around same time as shows like Adam-12 and Emergency and S.W.A.T were bombarding our TVs. MB get on the Tahoe PLEASE!

Whoops, forgot to read the title. Just ignore that first comment I made
I think that Matchbox needs to do two things with the 1983 Chevrolet K-5 Blazer. First of all, they need to make a sturdier flag set for that vehicle because those things ALWAYS get lost. Second, they need to do a two-tone light bar like they did with the majority of the 1980s (I think 1987) Ford LTD Crown Victoria because the way that was done was awesome and/or make a massive revamp to the second style police light bar and just convert it into two dome lights not unlike the 1970s Chevrolet Ambulance Truck, and/or make that a two-tone dome light, and then add in a durable plastic chrome pair of secondary lights, as well as some top front fender lights, and on the secondary light bar lights beside the dome lights, it would go red dome light, blue secondary light, siren, red secondary light, and blue dome light. Now as for any new vehicles for police vehicles, might I suggest the 1972-1994 (or 1972-1996 if you are in Mexico) Dodge RamCharger and/or the 1973-1981 Plymouth (yes, they made trucks for a while as well) Trailblazer, and equip it with the same options as the 1983 Chevrolet K-5 Blazer.
