As is the Custom: The super clean creations of Nicholaus Tamboto…

We will probably be doing more of this on Lamley moving forward.
We love showing the plethora of customs that are either submitted or come across by one of us in our regular perusals.  The fact is now, however, that we get so many, that we can’t show all.  It’s not even close.  Putting together a weekly “As is the Custom” post would take hours.
So, it probably means getting your customs featured on Lamley will get harder and harder.  You’ve got to bring it.  Either in the execution department, or the idea department (sometimes the most simple customs are the best), or the creativity department.
But a little secret.  Quality photos will get you a long way.  The more crisp the photo, the more we can appreciate.  Sometimes your custom might not be perfect, but a good quality photo and resolve that.
It is with that in mind that we turn the reigns of As is the Custom this week to Nicholaus Tamboto of Indonesia, know as @nic_bali on Instagram.  Nik’s work fits all the criteria.  He comes up with incredibly creative ideas, executes them flawlessly, and then takes AMAZING photos.  We here at Lamley have been in awe of his work for awhile now, and it seems like a good time to give Nic a full feature.
We think you will be amazed by his work as well.  The nearly-professional paint work and wheels stand out especially, and how great are these photos!?!  If you didn’t know that most of these models started out as Hot Wheels, you would think they were road-ready 1:1 vehicles.  Nic’s work is some of the best out there, and we think you will agree.
(Thanks Nic.)

  1. FXXKing awesome! (see what I did there?). The best customs post I have ever, ever seen on this blog! Every single model is so clean and just freaking cool! My favorites are the blue Datsun pick-up, the red Ferrari F50, 250 GTO, LaFerrari and F40, Sesto Elemento and Veneno, all the BMW M3s and 2002s, the Porsche 959, Ford GT LM, both the Nismo Skyline GT-Rs, both the Supras and the SRT Viper. Basically, all of them. Nicholaus, I salute you!

  2. Awesome! Pure awesome! Of course i'm partial to the Ferrari's. Some of them would be great for a new line of Hot Wheels Ferrari Racers/Speed Machines. Gourgeous F40. Beautiful Dino!

The Porsche 959 is one of the cleanest i've seen – perfect example of a factory model which would also be great for a Speed Machine line, since the 959 was never considered for such.

Just too many to mention favorites – very clean execution. Nice work!!!
