Lamley News: Hot Wheels G Case Zamacs are hitting this week…

A quick heads up to you US collectors to start checking your Walmarts.  G Case dump bins are shipping and they are apparently full of the next batch of Zamac Exclusives.

Thanks to this photo floating around Facebook and Instagram, we now know that the Batch G Zamacs are the Camaro Special Edition, Toyota AE86 Corolla, and Chevy Silverado.  We already knew about the Camaro and Corolla, but the Silverado is new to us.  The truck may not be our cup of tea, but it is bound to be popular among collectors.

So while they ogle over the Chevy Zamacs, we hope to sneak in and snag a handful of the AE86.  And once we do, we will be sure to give them the Lamley photo treatment and show them here.

So the Zamacs so far in 2014 are as follows:

  1. ’14 COPO Camaro
  2. Chevrolet SS (Opala)
  3. ’69 Dodge Charger Daytona
  4. Chevy Silverado
  5. 2013 Chevy Camaro Hot Wheels Special Edition
  6. Toyota AE86 Corolla
We also know a Zamac Scion FR-S is on its way, and there are plenty more to come.  What models that you have seen in the lineup so far this year would you like to see as a Zamac in 2014?  (Our choice – definitely the Toyota 2000GT.)
Looking at it another way, Hot Wheels Chevy obsession in 2014 continues.  4 of the 6 Zamacs are Chevys, as are 6 of the 10 Super Treasure Hunts (and we are hearing rumors that the 11th Super is also a Chevy).  There are some nice Chevy castings, and many of them are being used this year, but wow, this is getting a little crazy.

  1. The Camaro is the same with the Chevrolet Opala SS. First they were in the mainline and they were a $TH, and now there ZAMAC? Lousy!

  2. G'Day all – time to rejig the ZAMAC line, too many GM products – How about 73 Ford Falcon XB; Nissan Skyline H/T 2000GT-R (Kenmeri); BMW 2002 or 92 BMW M3; Mazda RX7; 70 Toyota Celica; VW Beetle; Morris Mini Cooper???

  3. I actually agree and I am even a huge GM fan and owner myself… but so many great cars out there, no need for 3+ Camaros. Though despite preferring realistic decos, the ZL1 w/HotWheels side logos and clear blue wheels last year was awesome.

I particularly like your suggestion of the Zamac Falcon, BMW 2002, and the VW Beetle… Though I shudder to think how hard it would be to find the Zamac version of the Beetle!? The only regular version released a while back was near impossible to find here in the states.

Time will tell what the remainder of the year holds for the Zamac line! Clearly it's branching out with the Toyotas…

  4. Me too. I agree. Since so many GM's I think it's time to close up on those now. The ideas come fresh from you, but I also have some more ideas or you.

Here is: How about “most intrested' models, such as the Toyota 2000GT (Almost everyone is a fan of this model), BMW E30 M3 (Also a fan), Mazda RX-7 (fan too) Datsun 510 bluebird, Datsun 620 pickup (both Datsuns are also a fan too), and more Japanese nostalgic moels and including the Bimmer E30 and some other faves.

But for me my dream is to see Hot Wheels do a Delorean. Last time I heard someone said they were looking forward for a Delorean as a ZAMAC, bu that would probably be a good idea, and so I agree.
