NEXT CATEGORY! The Hot Wheels Basic Range gave us 26 New Licensed castings (not counting motorcycles), and now it is time to pick the best. So, to get right to it, watch the video below showcasing all the castings (in their various colors and decos), check out the photos, and vote on the three castings you thought we the best of the year.
We will of course tally them up, and we will have a winner. I unveil my choice for BEST (and my Top 3) in the video. Check it out and tell me if you agree:

I’m going for the Ferrari 365 GTB4 Competizione because I’m a big fan of the old 365 GTB4 Daytona casting (which is still superior due to most releases being full metal even as a mainline but perhaps we’ll get a GTB4C premium eventually) and I also find that the headlights on the new F40 LM casting look just a little “off” to me. (I’m not saying the old Ferrari F40 Hot Wheels casting was better, even if that one was all metal as well, but they both pale compare to the old Matchbox F40 casting which is my gold standard for ~$1-2 U.S. basic mainline F40 castings.)
I also might have voted for the BMW 635 CSi but my problem with the initial release is that they did a good job on the sculpt but the car needs the front “kidney” deco to look right and they concentrated on the side deco so there were no passes left for the kidney tampo.
Why Espace F1 gets so little hype? That’s the best casting of the year! People don’t know history and aren’t aware that’s true car and they think that’s fantasy casting. Lotus Cortina or Porsche 964 Cabrio are also awesome! And they choose Ferrari or F1…
