Monday again?! Brah these weeks keep flying by but this coming weekend is not only the best weekend of the year for racing, it’s also a three-day weekend for many thanks to the Memorial Day holiday. So let’s brave this week together and dive into some diecast news.

- An Elite Sale
Earlier today Hot Wheels sent out an email featuring a 30% off sale on many cars on the Creations website — namely big discounts on a bunch of the Elite 64 castings.

But if 30% wasn’t good enough, if you’re an RLC member, you get an extra 10% off at checkout with code MEMBERS10MAY25. So head on over to Creations and snatch some of those Elite cars before they are gone forever as the sale ends June 1st.
2. IXO hits the Brickyard
While attending the Indy 500 Fast Friday practice just a few days ago, I spotted some of the new IXO INDYCAR licensed diecast for sale around the track at the various merch tents — including the 2025 event car. I picked up a few and I will say at first glance they look great and have more compact packaging than the prior GL cars…and at a $12 price point I thought they were reasonably priced as well. Hopefully that means we’ll see more other-branded diecasts available state side soon.

3. Where we’re going we’ll probably need roads
DiecastTalk has quickly become the kings of limited releases as of late, and now they are dropping another version of their very futuristic Tacoma SR5 to coincide with the 40th anniversary of Back to the Future being released.

While they have released a version of truck before, this version is chrome black and comes with the Statler Toyota sticker, sale banners, a Marty minifig, and a skateboard in Hoverboard livery. The bad news is that this version is a Malaysia Diecast Expo exclusive and is limited to 500 pieces, so it could be a very hard release to track down.
4. Greenlight dropz a new casting preview
Earlier today Greenlight posted a new sneak-peek on their IG of the upcoming 2025 Corevtte ZR1 casting and it looks very promising.

The casting looks to be pretty detailed with a good mix of plastic aero bits added on to the new metal body, which itself appears quite well done. Raw zamac always accentuates a casting’s edges, but the new ZR1 casting looks extra angular and very muscly. Hopefully we’ll see it released in some of the great high impact colors that C8s have been know for when it drops later this year.
5. Eastbound and mailbox down
The very popular second hauler from the Elite 64 line, the Scania 770 S, is finally shipping as many buyers are reporting they received shipping notices today from Mattel.

The $55 hauler was the second semi truck/hauler released and sold out within the first hour of sales — showing the market for affordable yet detailed rigs is definitely thirsty for more…but when will we see another? No word on that as of yet, but as soon as we hear about one, you’ll hear about one.
In-House Party
John/Lamley Group dropped some fire as usual in the form of a sick Hot Wheels sneak video featuring Designer Andrés Andrieu.
For myself/64wheels, I unbox and built a 1993 Matchbox Harley-Davidson Customizing Shop playset:
And @championdjk did a great video on some oddball diecast finds:

One week before qualifying weekend, the 1:64 IXO Indy cars at the 500 Museum gift shop were $10 each. It was only a 20% bump for the quals!
