The Weekly 5-Pack: April 28, 2025 – Hot Wheels Collector Nationals Edition

Any time there’s a Hot Wheels Nationals convention it seems like there’s many new castings and previews released that it’s hard to keep up, so we’re dedicating this week’s 5-Pack entirely to this past week’s St. Louis Nationals event coverage.

  1. The RLC

Let’s start with some of Hot Wheels top tier releases from the RLC — all of which are planned to be released sometime in the next year.

  • Custom Dodge Tradesman van (returning casting)
  • Subaru Impreza (new casting)
  • 1959 Chevrolet Brookwood Wagon (new casting)
  • Volkswagen Golf (new casting)
  • Koenigsegg Jesko Absolute (new casting)
  • 1995 BMW M3 LTW (new casting)
  • 1981 Toyota SR5 4WD (new casting)
  • 2000 Ford Mustang SVT Cobra R (new casting)
  • 1972 Chevy Nova Pro Street (new casting)
  • 1966 Ford GT40 MK II
  • RWB Porsche 930 (returning casting)

Even though there are a TON of great new castings, the big news for most collectors is the return of the moving parts RLC casting of the RWB Porsche 930. The initial (and only) release of the car has exploded in both value and desirability and the second release will probably be the most hyped RLC release of the year.

2. Elite 64 Brings the Heat

I have really been enjoying the Elite 64 line as I prefer the realism it offers over the RLC, so these next few are extra rad imo.

  • BWM M3 Touring (new casting)
  • Custom Toyota AE86 (new casting)
  • 2024 Jeep Gladiator – Mod Kit with 21 accessories (new casting)
  • BMW 3.0 CSL Race (new casting)
  • Porsche 963

I expect the custom AE86 and BMW 3.0 to be the most popular of the bunch, with the Jeep being the least popular — that’s just based on my best guess factoring in some market knowledge and past Elite 64 sales trends…but we’ll see!

3. Premiums on Premiums

There were so many premiums across the various lines previewed that it’s hard to show them all, but here’s a list of what dropped and them checkout John’s presentation video at the end of the article to get a full look at everything.

Car Culture individual new releases:

  • 2024 Ford Mustang RTR Spec 5-FD (new casting, Circuit Legends)
  • Ferrari 499P (new casting, Circuit Legends, also is the 0/5 chase for the wave)
  • LaFerrari (new casting, Euro Speed)

Team Transport new castings:

  • Ferrari 250 GTO & Fiat 642 RN2 Bartoletti

Boulevard new castings:

  • Mercedes-Benz CLK 63 AMG Black Series
  • Maserati MC20
  • 2024 Toyota Tacoma
  • ’80 Mercedes-Benz 500 SLC Rallye
  • Lamborghini Diablo SV

Target 2-Packs:

  • Rob N’Pinks (new casting)
  • Subaru Crosstrek (new casting)

4. 1/43 Scale goes Wild

Both the premium 1/43rd scale line AND the Pull-Back Speeders got some love in this go-round.

Here are the new castings previewed for each:

Premium:

  • Toyota Supra GR Pandem Widebody
  • Modified BMW E30 M3
  • 2023 Lamborghini Revuelto
  • 2025 Ford Mustang GTD

Pull-Back Speeders:

  • Toyota Tacoma Custom
  • Lamborghini Huracan Super Trofeo Evo 2
  • 1966 Ford Bronco

5. ACCELERACERS ARE BACK

One of the biggest official announcements was the return of the Acceleracers line. Back in the mid 2000s, Hot Wheels released a series of Acceleracers animated films that ultimately became what would be considered a modern “cult classic” among younger diecast collectors — and the cars released in conjunction with the series have become hugely popular, with some of the cars eclipsing many Redline-era casting’s value…so suffices it to say these may be some of the most hard-to-find cars of the Silver line this year.

BONUS – 6. The Mainlines!

What Nationals list would have been complete without touching om some of the mainlines?!

Of course the new Ferrari castings will be a hit, but there are truly some awesome HWs original castings and licensed castings that will be hitting pegs too.

Some of those include:

  • Alfa Romeo Guilia TI Super
  • Lil’ Roar (custom off-road Mini, original casting)
  • Lotus Cortina
  • Mod Mill (original casting)
  • Quick Chat (classis Fisher Price telephone, original casting)
  • Honda VFR750R
  • Twin Dorado (original casting)
  • Peugeot 9×8 Hypercar
  • Feline Lucky (Maneki-neko waving cat, original casting)
  • Gone Mad (original casting)
  • Jaguar XJC V12 Coupe
  • Porsche 911 Turbo Cabriolet
  • McMurtry Speirling
  • El Segundo Rallye (original casting)
  • 1983 Porsche 928S
  • 1966 Batboat (the customized Glastron boat from the ’66 Batman movie! A personal HELL YEAH on this one from me!)

And that’s not even close to everything previewed, so checkout John’s complete slideshow presentation video to see everything above AND everything else I missed!

In-House Party

64wheels (myself) did and unboxing and review on one of the oddest and most unique diecast accessories released in recent memory — Tomica’s Drift Turn Stage — something I may do an article on at some point as well:

@championdjk did a video featuring the amazing HWs 100% line vehicles:

And @doomusrlc cracks open some HWs premiums:

  1. a lot of really good stuff here. the 499p, peugeot 9×8, and elite porsche 963 are top tier for me as well as the 3.0csl. Minigt has taken their sweet time getting their 963 out.
