Football season is over, NASCAR has started, and it’s snowing again here in Ohio — which must mean it’s mid February and time for yet another weekly edition of the 5-Pack. So grab yourself a warm drink and kick-back while we cover five more stories from this past week in diecast.

- Greenlight gets Graphic
Greenlight this past week finally revealed a set of three cars designed in collaboration with famed ex-Mattel graphic designer Michael Heralda. The collab was announced late last year but this is the first time we’re getting a look at the new designs via a post on Greenlight’s IG.

Heralda is responsible for over 5,000 different diecast decos/designs and has created some of the most memorable schemes on Hot Wheels and Matchbox cars since his on-boarding with them in 1997. He retired in 2015, but hasn’t stopped designing — and with this new trio of low riders, could we be seeing more from Michael on upcoming GL castings? Only time will tell, but we’re crossing our fingers that this isn’t just a one-off collab.
- Diecast from Down Under
The in-house Aussie corespondent, Lamley contributor Reece (@aussiehotwheelscollector), sent a cool update our way from Australian brand OZ Wheels.
They announced a new series of 1/64th scale Australian cars dubbed FSD Series 1, with the FSD standing for Fully Sick Detail. The new series will consist of six cars (four brand new castings and two upgraded castings) and featuring clear windows and full interiors, which are upgrades from the brand’s previous releases. The new changes for the upgraded models are in response from feedback voiced by collectors, which is always nice to hear when a company makes improvements based on collector input.
Oz Wheels previewed two of the castings — a Holden HSV VF Maloo and a Ford Falcon XD — on their IG this past week and both look very promising from a design standpoint.

Here in the States we don’t get a lot of Australian cars in diecast form (or real form for that matter) so this new release from Oz Wheels is cool to see — now we just need to convince them to sell these bad boys stateside!
- Sign on the Dotted Diecast
Last year Tarmac Works brought car-themed collector’s cards to the diecast world and now they are introducing another new diecast development: diecast with autographs.
The inclusion of autographs is in connection with their new licensing agreement with Japanese aftermarket behemoth VeilSide, and will spawn two new castings: the Nissan VeilSide FFZ400 Fairlady Z and the Mazda RX-7 VeilSide Fortune7.

The autographs are from The Fast and the Furious franchise actor and notable car enthusiast Sung Kang, as well as CEO of Veilside himself, Hironao Yokomaku. The autos will be inserted into 50 orders of the new Fairlady Z, so it’ll be to see where they pop-up.
While diecast with autographs (or autographs on diecasts) is not new a new concept as several brands have done it before (Lionel offers autographed NASCAR diecast as a regular product), it’s cool to see this type of collaboration with such notable automotive industry icons.
But will this be a sign of things to come? Could we see more diecast including autographs? Personally I like the inclusion of autographs as it’s something my personal diecast collection is missing, but we’ll see how the Tarmac launch is accepted by collectors. Updates to follow!
- It’s a bird, it’s a plane, — it’s Diecast Super Con!
The 2025 Diecast Super Convention will be hosted in sunny Las Vegas this week and features an absolutely stacked lineup of diecast related events.

The annual Super Con is sponsored by Jada and Majorette and offers show-goers an extended weekend of diecast sneak peeks, in-room trading, several special show-specific diecast drops, featured guests from Hollywood/TV and movies, as well as a real car show on Saturday. The amount of classic and current TV/movie stars they have showing up is pretty impressive. The celeb sessions include Jon and Ponch from CHiPs, Bo, Luke, and Daisy from the Dukes of Hazzard, as well actors from The Fast and the Furious, Overhaulin, Street Outlaws, and Storage Wars — and we can’t forget to mention guest speaker and racing legend Peter Brock of BRE.
The event also features sessions with representatives/designers from Hot Wheels, Greeenlight, IXO, M2, Car Tuned, Maisto, and of course Jada and Majorette.
While I’ve never been, it sounds like an awesome event — and if you plan on going let us know in the comments below.
- Hot, Nasty, Badass Speed Season is Here
Now that football is over it’s finally race season — specifically NASCAR season. I’m a huge fan myself and have hundreds of the stock car diecasts from the various manufactures –and the cars from the 2025 season are already on preorder.
The NASCAR license has been quite the player over the years, making stops at Hot Wheels, Matchbox, Johnny Lightning, Racing Champions, Revell…you get what I’m saying — it’s been used a lot.
Currently Lionel Racing has the license and has for the past few years, and makes a pretty decent product. Their retail line of Winner’s Circle cars is pretty damn good and they are very quick on replicating cars from current races. They already have some preorders for 2025 Daytona 500 winner William Byron’s Camaro…a race that ended less than 24 hours ago.

So definitely give their online store a visit if you’re looking for current (and classic) NASCAR stock car product.
