Matchbox is clearly putting a lot of emphasis on moving parts models, and collectors have definitely responded. Sure, some comments on subpar premium wheels have definitely softened some of these New Model debut’s, but all in all this line has been most welcome.

  1. Best model: Nissan GT-R. The casting looks spot on and very well executed. I’m not sure if the doors are metal or plastic, which may change my opinion, and I also think the side mirrors aren’t perfect, as neither are the wheels (but this is fixable) but still I think it’s a great model.

Most disappointing: BMW M4. I hate that they did the convertible version of an existing Hot Wheels casting instead of making a different model, like maybe an M5 or M6, and also hate that the doors are plastic. An otherwise very good casting that’s let down by a few things. Honestly, it’s not as bad as the tag “most disappointing” makes it sound but I had to vote for something and it’s the M4.

  2. Best : Pagani. I am hard wired for Euro sports cars so that one is a no-brainer. Worst : Monte Carlo. Very popular with many collectors. Not a bad casting. I just don’t like the car.
