Why I am featuring it: Ahhhhh… the original Real Riders. This is where rubber tires all began for Hot Wheels. They released these cars with Real Riders packaging and wheels in 1983-1987 mainline series. I’m not a Redline collector so these are my favorite vintage Hot Wheels. They are popular among old school Hot Wheels collectors as well. I have a good amount of these in my collection. The majority of them were willed to me by my late friend that passed away a couple of years ago. He was taken way too early from liver cancer and he left his collection of Real Riders to me because he knew I really liked them. So, of course, I have a soft spot for this segment of my collection. This Good ‘Ol Pick-Um-Up is one of the coolest in the bunch. Sometime in the future, I might do a full feature on the 80’s Real Riders releases. I just need to track down a couple castings I don’t have yet but stay tuned….
