Hot Wheels dropped this on their IG account today:
The Gumball 3000 Road Rally is underway, and it is no surprise that Hot Wheels is involved. And it is also no surprise that they are doing a special model.
They don’t make it clear what they are doing with this, but my guess is it will somehow be at the Rally, maybe for attendees. It looks a little too decorated for the basic range, so I have no idea if it will be available for us nerds at any point at all. Or maybe it is just a one-off for this IG post. Who knows? I do know I want one.
Looks cool! But I see it suffers from the graininess that is typical for models that have their decoration done using the inkjet process.
That gumball 3000 Lamborghini aventador is awesome. 👍 I want one also. 👍
Yeah, the close-up photography does no favors for the grainy Inkjet graphics. I’ve never liked this deco method, and this is a prime example of why. I’m sure this won’t be widely available, and that’s ok, it’s kind of “meh”. What this DOES show, however, is that the controversial TRAP5 wheels are at their best when done in all black like this.
