Lamley Preview: 2016 Hot Wheels Super Treasure Hunt Set…

If you are an RLC Member, you may or may not have purchased the 2016 Super Treasure Hunt Set on HWC yesterday.  If you are not, today is the day.

If you did, you are in for a treat.  Packaging art extraordinaire Julian Koiles took on the task of designing the packaging, and went next level.  Sure, it is just the set that many of you found in stores over time (and I have always said that most of what makes Super TH’s great is finding them), but I love that Mattel does this set every year.

And puts a ton into it, and for collectors only.  Only 1000 sets are available, so there only a few left today, and it will surely sell out:

Mattel sent one over for me to preview, and it is below.  Enjoy:

Nice, eh?

  1. I'm not a big fan of Treasure Hunts. In fact I treat them like my regular HW purchases. If I like it, I buy it. If I don't it stays on the pegs.

However, I did stumble on the K&N Corvette and the Drifsta at a local Dollar General last month. I did buy both, especially the Drifsta, it is a generic that grows on you over time.

  3. Nice is right ! I get one each year because I live in the middle of nowhere and it's the only chance I'll ever get to acquire them AT A REASONABLE PRICE !In the past I've had to buy them one by one from ebay and I can tell you it gets expensive ! takes a lot of time and you don't get a neat collectors box .. Like I said on the Lamley Instagram page , Mattel have to get some money back for all those Supers they've sold for $0.99 . If people want to pay $200 for the convenience, so be it. Sure it's a lot of money but if you can't go and find them for a buck , don't be haters ……

  4. DV, no I am not. I am tired of foul language being used, and so are many readers whose kids read this blog and watch the channel. You are welcome to comment on Facebook and Instagram, and if you are truly concerned about where this stuff comes from, email me at lamleygroup@gmail.com. I think common sense is all the proof you need. If I am saying Mattel provided something, don't you think that would get me in trouble if they didn't? And is it so beyond you to think that Mattel, M2, Auto World, Majorette, and others would find this blog a viable means to promote their products? Me saying it from Mattel is all the evidence you need. If not, email me or go find it yourself.

Still, many thanks for your dedicated following if this blog.
