Looks like customizers are getting their Matchbox Skylines. Let’s see what they do with them…

Matchbox let everyone know yesterday that those that won the #matchboxcustomcontest would be getting their Skylines soon.

And now they are arriving.

Looks like SoCal resident Luke Baumstark has his, and I am sure the others are arriving soon.  I have to say I am giddy to see what they come up with, and it will be super exciting to see all these customized Hakosukas displayed together.

And since these Matchbox Skylines are arriving raw and unrivited, Luke and others are discovering how remarkable this casting really is.

Yeah, that is an engine included with the interior.  The only way to see it would be to take it apart.  Little details like that are always a treat.  It is cool to see with all the chatter about this model over the last year, Matchbox is totally backing it up…

Alright customizers, get to work!

  1. I'd likely do the same. Some preproductions, especially for a desirable model like this, bring a lot of money. Now, a 50 year old Lesney beater Matchbox missing 3/4 of its paint is just screaming for a restoration, but not this.

  2. Too bad yall can't do that though, they'll be expecting to see your Skyline again. When they thought they was giving it to a real customizer, some low key scalper ended up getting it. That would be some bullshit for real though.

  3. Did you know that there is actually two variations?? One with turbo engine and 5 point harness (seen above), and one with a naturally aspirated (N/A, or non-turbo) engine and I assume no 5 point harness. Just ridiculously cool!!!
