As we mentioned yesterday, the Lamley Group Blog turns 3 today.
It seems like it has been around longer in some ways, and it seems like a blur in others. Nonetheless, it has evolved quite a bit since its beginning, and it will continue to evolve.
Hopefully most of you approve of the evolution of the blog. What we cover, what we don’t cover, etc. We try to keep it interesting, and something you enjoy reading every day. Based on your feedback, we seem to do at least a decent job of that.
Except in one area.
Customs. When we were doing As is the Custom every week, there was no more popular post. And we loved doing it. The problem that as time became scarce, and our desire to take weekends off grew, it became near impossible to do it every week. In fact, As is the Custom hasn’t made an appearance on the blog in months.
And we have heard about it from a ton of you. And I am glad we did. To be honest, more than a few times I have crafted a post explaining why Lamley is ditching its custom coverage, only to delete it because it seemed such an integral part of what we do.
So I have gone through what to do numerous times, and I think we have a solution. I have asked two big shots in the Instagram custom community, Chris Huntley (@78toy4dr on Instagram) and Seth Mananquil (@mrsenctvt on Instagram) to help create and manage As is the Custom, once again making it a weekly feature. We at Lamley will still pick our faves, but Chris and Seth will as well, and they will put it together.
And the other major change to our custom coverage? It is going to have its own home. We are pleased to introduce the Lamley Customs Blog:
This is the new home for As is the Custom, along with a variety of other custom coverage, including artist showcases, how-to posts, and possibly a Custom of the Day feature. And we see things evolving from there. Who knows where it could go…

How-to's? Woooooooooooooooooo!!!!! Now I can fix the Aston GT3 car and make the road-going variant V12 Vantage S). But will you do on-a-budget ($100 or less) how-to's for those who can't afford the tools, as well as still-playable DIY customs, and chin jobs? I'm guessing those bits will get covered too.

Two of the worst customizers coming together to create more mediocre work. Should have contacted chris walker or someone bigger to do it. The small time styrene building and just learning how to set molds to make wheels isn't cutting it. I know a handfull of people better suited for this job. No two kids just learning how to use tools
I am sorry you feel the way you do. I feel that both do great work, but that is beside the point. We asked them to do this because of their commitment to the custom community. We will still be making our choices as well, and will be included in the weekly post. Seth and Chris will make their choices and take on the task of compiling it all. We hope you enjoy it….

As long as its not mainly their choices I'll be happy. They have mediocre skills so we will see
And I wish you would post who you are. We totally respect your opinion, positive or negative, but don't like what appear to be personal attacks.
I don't care who is doing as long as it is back. The only thing I would ask is to mix it up. It seems that most of the customs posted are repeats. How about some variety? I like the Datsun's Toyota and Beamers but lets not let the hot rods go by the way side. After all custom cars were always rods. Tuners are ok but most look alike. The Chevy's the Fords the Dodges were cars that blew your mind when they crusied down the local strip.
