With the release of 2014 Hot Wheels Batch K and ’83 Silverado Treasure Hunt, we are now officially 10 Supers into the year.
Still no RLC sales, Retro and Cool Classics are lagging a bit, but the mainline keeps chugging along. It has been an interesting year for the Super TH’s. Chevrolet is getting a lot of love this year, with 6 of the 10 all being of the bowtie. (And we also know the next three will be Chevy as well.) The breakdown:
Chevy – 6
Ford – 3
Non-licensed – 1
Variety has not been the strongpoint of the Supers this year. After two Toyotas last year, JDM has taken a back seat, Europe continues to be ignored following the Ferrari 599XX Super in 2012, and Mopar is nonexistent. We can save that complaint until we know the full 15, and in the meantime just look at what is already out and pick a fave.
So, which of the first 10 do you think takes the cake? Give these review, in order of release, and vote below:
Which of the first 10 HW Supers is your favorite?
Chevrolet SS
Sandblaster
Chevy Camaro Special Edition
1971 Mustang Mach 1
’07 Ford Mustang
’55 Chevy Bel Air Gasser
’70 Chevy Chevelle
Twin Mill
’64 Chevy Nova Station Wagon
’83 Chevy Silverado
I chose my tops in order:
1. '13 Camaro Special Edition
2. '70 Chevelle
3. '71 Mustang Mach 1
4. '07 Mustang
5. '55 Chevy Bel Air Gasser
6. Sandblaster
All in order:
1. '13 Camaro Special Edition
2. '70 Chevelle
3. '71 Mustang Mach 1
4. '07 Mustang
5. '55 Chevy Bel Air Gasser
6. Sandblaster
7. '64 Chevy Nova Wagon
8. '83 Silverado truck
9. Twin Mill
Now, why I put the Twin Mill $TH last because I don't have care for it, IT IS AWFUL!!! And that's how the Sandlaster is beating him. Too bad that more of the others are my choice rather than that Twin Mill, '83 Silverado, and '64 Chevy Nova wagon aren't my choice because lots of problems are with it.
Now has anyone heard yet that later on this year there will be Chevys with $TH clothes on. Lots of Chevys? Anyone? It seems pretty bad news to hear there's going to be Chevys. I have enough with Chevys. They took up ZAMACS and now this? How about the Porsche 993 GT2, Nissan Hakosuka, '92 BMW M3 E30, and anthing Hot Wheels hadn't use yet? It would be fabulous to find these opening…
For me:
1. '55 Chevy Bel Air Gasser
2. '64 Chevy Nova Wagon
3. Chevrolet SS
4. '07 Ford Mustang
5. '83 Chevy Silverado
6. Twin Mill
7. Sandblaster
8. '71 Mustang Mach 1
9. '70 Chevelle SS
10. Camaro Special Edition
I should like the '71 Mustang more, but I just don't like the color. I'm surprised how much I like the Nova wagon considering my distaste for brown. I love the '70 Chevelle casting but the purple and Summit logos just don't work together, IMO. The Gasser is hands down my favorite so far. And I just don't totally care about the new generation Camaros.

Top 5 in order:
1. '55 Gasser
2. '71 Mustang Mach 1
3. '64 Chevy Nova Wagon
4. '07 Ford Mustang
5. '70 Chevelle SS
Where is teh button for NONE OF THE ABOVE… 🙂
Who wants to trade a Chevrolet Camaro Special Edition T-Hunt for one of 4 of my Chevrolet Opala SS T-Hunt? I had good luck early in the year but haven't found any Super Treasure Hunts since!
My top 3 are :-
1) Sandblaster
2) Chevrolet SS
3) Chevy Gasser
So my vote goes to the Ford. Its just so colorful and the huge tires actually make it look cool. Plus, its based on the F-150 Raptor, which itself is a very cool truck to begin with. I'm also taking into consideration the way they've pulled it off, the color choice, the wheel choice etc. Although I would wouldn't mind if one of those two Chevy's won as well.
– Black Wind
Also, for those who are wondering why I did placed the Gasser so low, its because the casting itself isn't my cup of tea. The execution of the model, the color, wheels is very good indeed! Kudos to HW for that. But I just don't like these “gasser” type of cars with their raised front end. Kinda spoils the look for me. If it was the normal '55 Bel Air, I would've hacked the poll to have it win. But for this version, no.
– Black Wind
Whoops, I forgot the Chevy SS Opala, that would be the 7th favorite all in order. I'll redo the list.
1. '13 Camaro Special Edition
2. '70 Chevelle
3. '71 Mustang Mach 1
4. '07 Mustang
5. '55 Chevy Bel Air Gasser
6. Sandblaster
7. Chevy SS Opala
8. '64 Chevy Nova Wagon
9. '83 Silverado truck
10. Twin Mill
The year is not over but, the 55 Gasser is taking it this year hands down. And this is coming from a Ford guy. The stance and look of an old school gasser is so cool. Let the votes speak for themselves.
FYI, my top 5:
1. '70 Chevelle
2. '55 Gasser
3. '71 Mustang Mach 1
4. Sandblaster
5. '64 Chevy Nova Wagon
The Gasser and Twin Mill are the only two I have not cared to collect. Funny how that is. Im just not a gasser fan, think its the body casting. Cool though that its the most popular as it will drive down prices of the ones I want!
Tough decision to make!!! But I'll get Chevrolet SS & '71 Mustang in a draw. The others are really nice but I won't make a list.
My top three:
Sandblaster. I don't like the white base but its a raptor and they could put the off road wheels on anything and it would get my vote as I enjoy collecting them.
Second is the Nova wagon. I normally don't like flames, but its a brown station wagon, for anyone that also reads Jalopnik, that's a recipe for success.
Third is the gold Mustang. To me it is the most noticeable as being a super as the shade catches your eye much better than the regular one.
Honorable mention goes to the gasser, its not my cup of tea but I think it is the best executed.
Dishonorable mention goes to the Summit Chevelle. The casting is one of my favorites, I like the Summit logo and being a fan of TCU, purple is fine with me, but for some reason all three together just don't work.
