We divulged the three Japanese Cool Classics that Hot Wheels unveiled at Nationals last night, but for Lamley readers there was a much bigger bombshell. We knew the Cool Classics were coming. We didn’t know this piece of news:
When Hot Wheels unveiled the 2014 Mainline, there were a few “TBD” on the list. We have since learned that one of them was Snoopy, but these other three are far more exciting, as revealed at the Nationals Convention:
Porsche 934 Turbo RSR
BMW E36 M3 Race
2015 Ford Mustang GT
The Mustang is a no-brainer, and we figured that was coming, but these other two come as a surprise. Coming off the buzz that the Porsche 993 created, Hot Wheels went back a few years to the late 70’s to do another legendary Porsche, one that sits perfectly with the 993:
It is a shocker to know that within a year Hot Wheels has done both a 934 and a 993. If I was asked awhile ago what Porsches I would like to see Hot Wheels do, it would be these two along with the original 911. It is a stunner, and we can’t wait to see it in person.
The same goes for BMW. 2002, E30, and now the E36:
This is surely another treat, and like the 934 to 993, the E36 is perfect compliment to the E30. The funny thing? We kind of heard this was coming. A BMW enthusiast contacted us late last year saying he called Mattel to ask if they were doing more BMW’s, and the operator said she would get back to him. She called back and said the E36. We thought she was just confusing a new color of the E30, but it sounds like she wasn’t. Maybe we are on to something. Just call Mattel if you want to know what is coming. Sounds easy, eh?
So what do you think? Actually we don’t care. We are way two excited for these two…

Now, that is a really good surprise!! a first gen porsche 911!! 🙂 I can care less about then other 2 though 🙂 Let's hope 2015 brings the Corvette Z06…with a metal roof, PLEASE and in a smaller scale…
Why do you keep saying 934 when its a 964? And that too a Turbo RSR? WTF? There was the Turbo and there was the RSR. They're two different cars. There's no Turbo RSR. Are confused by the many, many 911s around or is your brian still in shock mode after hearing about these two stunners! You need to get some rest, mate! Mocking apart, I don't care about the Mustang (which is just plain ugly if you ask me) but the two Germans are simply great news! Didn't expect them at all! I shall be looking for these two!

The Mustang looks terrible. unless it gets painted, i'm not putting my hands on it.
The 964 Turbo and the E36 race car looks damn nice, the 2015 Mustang is also cool, but the white PR5s doesnt fit, maybe if they use black PR5s instead? Also, Wheres the rumored Koenigsegg Agera R in the mainline? I want that var so badly but i think its gonna be a Retro Entertainment exclusive, dammit. But, nice cars for the future, cant wait to see them in the pegs!
Yay, the 2015 Mustang is in the mainline!!! I just need to find it and get it into my collection. Turns out I feel like I'm a REAL collector after all.
The 934 looks like an epic. And so as that Bimmer racer, so I'm also getting those two.

Ah, the E36: my favorite M3 generation. Awesome to see it's coming. Same with the 911; awesome car, looks like an awesome casting.
The 2015 Mustang is hideous, though it looks like HW did a good job on it.

man! I knew mustang was coming, but this early? MUSTANG!!!!!!!!!!YEA!!!!!!!!!!! and that is the best looking mustang to me I'm a mustang fan and I am going to buy at least 3 of those mustangs!!!!!

Wow. These are fantastic. The Porsche needs rear tampos and side windows for me to be a buyer. The 918 spyder and carrera GT are a few exceptions I've made…same with the M3…I was not expecting the new mustang. This is great. I thought I was done hunting this year after getting LaFerrari and the gray 2014 Corvette. Now it is back to the walmarts…all 14 of them…but I really really wish they'd stop doing red cars. There's way too many of them already. (Ferraris anyone?)
I am with you there. Love the E46…it would be a perfect world if they make the M3 GTR from the need for soeed most wanted game. but when they release it..all the world will end. Everyone will trample the walmarts and targets and everywhere else. Its gonna be a bloody day when the E46 comes out..if it does
Yes, you are right. It is an iconic car E46. I've made and replica of BMW from Most Wanted, but it is not good as it can be.
There is no matter if they do Street wersion or GTR, anyway it would be awesome 🙂
