Just Unveiled: 2014 Hot Wheels Toyota Celica in racing deco…

Well the cool models just keep on coming…

Hot on the heels of the just-released Hot Wheels 2014 Batch C, the next batch is popping up overseas.  Word is out that the Porsche 993 GT2 will make its basic range debut in red, and now we have the first views of the 2014 version of the 1970 Toyota Celica.

It looks like the Celica is shedding its stock clothes in favor of a sporty retro racing outfit.  We don’t know if this deco pays homage to a classic Celica, but at least we know it looks clean and cool.

We also see what has become a regular feature on Hot Wheels’ JDM castings – the Japanese Nostalgic Car logo, along with the JCCS (Japanese Classic Car Show) logo.  We saw the same pair on last year’s AE86, and here they are again.  Lucky bastards.

While we loved the stock deco of last year’s green and yellow version, this racing version is sharp.  We will have to wait until we have it in hand to figure out which version we like best.  Hopefully that opportunity comes soon…

  1. I am far from being a JDM enthusiast… and even I love this!!! Mostly for the well designed, tasteful livery. Good job to those at Hot Wheels!
