First Look: Hot Wheels Bump Around recolored in blue…

Sometimes we just want to show off.  We get a new OEM Ferrari, and we just want to show how cool it is (which we will do later today).  And yes, we will be honest and say that sometimes we just like to show off a model that hasn’t hit the pegs yet, and make you go “ooooooooooooooooo”.

But we do have a more charitable side.  Occasionally we just provide a service.  We will take a model that we have no interest in and throw it on the blog because we know there are a few who are interested in seeing it.  This post is one of those.  Uh….YOU’RE WELCOME!  (I hope the goofy face that comes with that last phrase comes through.)

The Bump Around is surely a curiosity.  A clever little model, and honestly a creative addition to the range.  But that is about all I can say from a commentary standpoint.  Hmmmm, let’s see, what else…it is well executed.  I think.  It looks somewhat like the image in my head when I think of bumper cars.  I just don’t know anything about bumper cars.  What I do know is sometimes they are over that way when I walk the path to the miniature golf course to take in a round with my daughters.  Maybe one time they asked to do the bumper cars.  I must have said no.

Alright, I am done.  I don’t hate this model.  I would have to care about it to hate it.  I am glad it is here. It sells well, so it must make a lot of people happy.

Enjoy the pics…

(And grab one or two on ebay if you are so inclined…)

  1. I really don't see a whole lot of these populating the pegs but I for some strange reason, I ended up picking up a red one. I plan on hanging on to it for now – want to see if it develops a following/interest down the road. I wonder if it could be one of those things that could be a popular rarity!?! If not, then oh well. I wonder if this a hit with the older folk? I'm not super crazy about carnival ride stuff such as this, but it's different. Also, different could be the Bone Crusher released in a new and different hue … pink. I like the bone crusher “rat rod” design and pink sure makes it quite curiosity too!

  2. Awesome! I'll surely attempt to find 2 of these, now if only they would've carefully changed the #3 to any other number… now we'll just eventually have 4 different colors all with the #3?? I agree with the others that I generally don't purchase outside the accurate production car range but this novelty is pretty entertaining.
